April 22, 2010 [TankTerminals.com] - The Dutch family-owned company De Rijke (Spijkenisse, the Netherlands), known for his extensive trucking fleet and warehouse operations, has sold its tank terminal in Rotterdam Europoort to Vitol.

De Rijke Tank Storage, as the company in question is called, operates a 10,000 m³ all stainless steel tank terminal with 10 tanks along the west side of the Donauhaven in the heart of the Europoort sector of the Rotterdam port. The terminal has been sold to Vitol who owns the adjacent EuroTank Terminal Rotterdam (ETT).

ETT Rotterdam currently operates a 642,000 m³ oil terminal right north of the site where De Rijke Tank Storage is located. Vitol had announced some time ago that the ETT Rotterdam terminal will be expanded with another 350,000 m³ for which Vitol was in the process to acquire additional plots in the immediate vicinity of the existing location. De Rijke advised that, under the agreement with Vitol, they will be required to remove the tanks and other structures from the site. This operation is expected to take a few months.
