Crestwood Midstream to Complete Bakken Crude Rail Expansion in Q1 2014

December 6, 2013 [OPIS] - Crestwood Midstream Partners LP said on Thursday that its COLT Hub crude rail expansion at Epping, N.D., is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2014.

The crude rail loading capacity will be increased 160,000 b/d from 120,000 b/d and is supported by take-or-pay contracts.

The terminal’s crude storage capacity will increase to 1.2 million bbl from 720,000 bbl.

The COLT Hub is able to handle up to 120 car unit trains.

The terminal is connected by a 21-mile, 10-inch bi-directional pipeline (COLT Connector) connecting the COLT Terminal to the Dry Fork terminal.

The COLT Hub is one of the Bakken Shale’s rail transportation avenues for East Coast and West Coast markets. The COLT expansion will allow more crude flow to the Arrow Central Delivery Point, which has connectivity with the COLT Hub through the Hiland and Tesoro crude oil pipeline systems.

Crestwood also said that the Jackalope system is expected to commence processing volumes through its facility in the third quarter 2014, and is supported by long-term contracts that provide for fixed rates of return on invested capital.
