June 30, 2014 [dalje.com] - Croatia's oil pipeline operator JANAF said on Friday that in early July it would put into operation the renovated and expanded storage facility Zitnjak in Zagreb, thus successfully completing an investment cycle worth more than a billion kuna, financed with the company's own funds.

The investment cycle also included the renovation and expansion of the company’s storage facilities at Omisalj and Sisak.

In the last few years, the company has diversified its operations by building storage facilities for compulsory supplies, reversible transport and commercial storage, JANAF said.

Work on the renovation and expansion of the Zitnjak Terminal cost more than 372 million kuna. The company also invested around 282 million kuna in building three facilities for the storage of crude oil at the Omisalj Terminal that were put into operation in the first quarter of this year.

In November 2013, the company put into operation five newly built storage facilities for crude oil at the Sisak Terminal, an investment worth more than 415 million kuna.

JANAF’s gross profit in 2013 totalled 113.4 million kuna, 10.5% up from the previous year. In the first quarter of this year, the company earned gross profits in the amount of 23.8 million kuna, 4.9% more than in the same period last year.

This year JANAF is marking its 40th anniversary. During the 40-year period, the operator has transported 196.4 million tonnes of oil, of which 60% for foreign customers, in line with the highest international environmental standards.
