Primorsk-Vysotsk Pipeline to Commence Operation from November’15

September [PortNews IAA] - Oil product pipeline from port Primorsk to RPK-Vysotsk-LUKOIL-II (Leningrad region) will become operational from November 2015, IAA PortNews journalist cites Transneft's deputy vice president Vladimir Nazarov.


According to him, the capacity of the pipeline will be 1.5 mln t of diesel fuel per year. Further expansion will become possible after implementation of the project on increasing the capacity of facilities pumping diesel fuel towards port Primorsk. Then the capacity of pipeline towards Vysotsk may be increased up to 5 mln t per year. The project implementation is supposed to be started in November 2014.

«It is essential for us not to reduce transshipment via Primorsk,” Transneft representative said.

Transneft is Russian oil transporting state monopoly (78% of shares are controlled by the state) and the largest pipeline company in the world holding about 50,000 km of trunk pipelines. In 2013, net profit of Transneft calculated under Russian Accounting Standards climbed by 5.7% to RUB 11.26 bln.
