IOC to Commission Rs 507 cr Una Terminal by Dec

June 29, 2018 [Uni India] - Indian Oil Corporation(IOC) would dedicate its first Ultramodern and fully automatic Una Terminal for people of Himachal Pradesh by Dec this year as the terminal would have 87,000 Kilo Litre Petroleum carrying capacity (Petrol, Diesel & Kerosene).


This was disclosed by Executive Director (Corporate Communication and Branding) Mr. Subhodh Dakwale while addressing a press conference here on Monday.

He said that terminal would cost Rs 507 Cr would supply fuel products to this state especially Indian Armed force and winter quota of fuel. The terminal would be link with 61 km long pipe line from Jalandhar however state is currently getting road drive supply of such products from Ambala and Jalandhar Indian Oil Terminal.

The facility would not only help to reduce the air-pollution but it save the extra cost of holding, loading and unloading moreover the supply would not be affected due to road blockade during any protest.

IOC would also set up 22 Cr. new Bottling Plant at Una having two units of capacity of 600-600 mega watta each likely to enhance the storage of LPG from 900 metric tone to 2100 MT and likely to commission by 2010.

During the year 2017-18, IOC recorded total turn over of 5,06,428 Cr and ranked number one among public sector units in the country and rated 168 on the 500 top ranking fortune Global firms.

Mr Dakwale claimed that it registers net profit of 21,346 Cr. during the last financial, mainly attributed to high Refinery margin, Inventory profit and vast processing capacity.

The firm sold about 88.76 million tone products 0per annum and owns about 11 oil refineries in the country having capacity to cater 35 percent fuel consumption of country.

IOC out beat its sister concern ONGC as it have network of 13400 km long pipeline network having capacity to supply 94.79 Million Tone Crude and petroleum products.

The firm operate through the vast network of 2700 petrol pumps and 12500 gas agencies, caters the need of 55 percent of fuel and supplying LPG to about 11 Cr costumers in the country.

He said that IOC also invested about 35000 Cr to roll out BS-6 lPG products which is have very less content of Sulphar ( 80 per cent less) he said that normal Diesel and Petrol have about 50 part per million Sulphar content however BS6 has only 10 ppm).

He said that IOC supplying the BS6 products to National Capital Region and it would be more refinery to be added up to add more metropolitan cities in the country.

Under the Prime minister flagship program ”Give Up ” as many as 70,000 LPG customers from this hill state left the benefit of gas subsidy compared to one Crore in the Country states performance is very good, he said.

There are about 419 LPG retail out let centre of IOC as more than 65 percent of LPG demand being supplied by the firm having about 16.50 lakh house holds and catering 60 lakh population in the state.

The gas agencies are working with the IOC on the partnership basis as 49 are farmer service and 233 retail sale centres.

The PSU succeed to declare 93 LPG panchayat in the state also laid target to declared 55 another under this scheme as IOC has already identified 1415 house holds in the state to have 100 per cent LPG connections.

The IOC also made 144 retail outlets fully automated where costumers could book their LPG cylinder on line. The 61 retail outlets are electrified with the Solar power units moreover 44 others would be installed with this facility.

Electrified with the solar panel and money of them is completely operating with solar energy.

Mr Dakwale said that during last FY year IOC have got Rs. 8000 Cr central assistance to empower woman under PM Ujjawala yojana and it had issued about two crore new connection to women the country.
IOC now got financial assistance of Rs 12800 Cr to release 4 crore fresh LPG connection in the country under PM flagship program.

Under its Outreach policy in the state IOC would issue about 6000 new LPG connections as it have already received about 65370 fresh applications under Ujjawala Yojana.

IOC also keeping inventory stock of 65,000 LPG cylinders at Kaza, Killar and Keylong before the onset of winter season as this stations get cut off from the rest of world , he added.

The firm also signed MOU with the EESL firm to sale its LED lamps and tubes through its retail outlets in the state.

The public state units also offering its services in the remotest corner of the country as it has sale outlets at Kibber village (Altitude of 12700 feet) in Kaza of Lahaul Spiti district which is the highest LPG outlet in the world.
