August 31, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- Aster has agreed to acquire a stake in Changi Airport Fuel Hydrant Installation Pte. Ltd. (CAFHI), becoming a shareholder in the company and joining other major energy companies in supplying aviation fuel directly to international airlines at Singapore Changi Airport, one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.
The transaction remains subject to the requisite regulatory approvals and the fulfilment of customary closing conditions.
Andre Khor, Deputy CEO of Aster, said the acquisition of a strategic interest in CAFHI marked an important step in the company’s expansion into aviation fuels. He noted that, combined with Aster’s refining and storage operations and its growing capabilities in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), the investment would strengthen the company’s ability to support the evolving energy needs of the aviation sector in Singapore and the wider region.
The investment also complements Aster’s expanding SAF capabilities. The company is working with Aether Fuels to develop a next-generation SAF facility at Pulau Bukom and with Keppel, through its Infrastructure Division, to assess a commercial-scale ethanol-to-jet SAF facility on Jurong Island. These initiatives broaden Aster’s participation across both conventional and lower-carbon aviation fuels.
Together, the investments form part of Aster’s strategy to develop an integrated energy and infrastructure platform spanning fuel production, storage and distribution. The initiatives are also intended to support the future development of aviation fuels and mobility in Singapore and across the region.
