September 23, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- BlastOne has appointed Jay Worley as its new global chief executive officer, bringing more than three decades of experience in complex, safety-critical and asset-intensive businesses to the role.

Worley joins BlastOne from Airgas, an Air Liquide company, where he served as chief operating officer. In that position, he was responsible for safety, sales, marketing, operations and technology across more than 18,000 employees and approximately 1,400 locations in the United States and Canada.

He joined Airgas in 1993 and held a series of senior leadership positions over more than three decades, gaining experience across finance, sales, operations and business transformation. During his tenure as COO, Airgas achieved sustained growth and profitability through a combination of organic growth and mergers and acquisitions.

In his new role at BlastOne, Worley will build on the company’s existing focus on its people, safety, customer service and technological innovation. His experience across operations, commercial performance, strategy and business growth is expected to support BlastOne’s continued international expansion, as well as further investment in technology and automation.

BlastOne has developed from its origins in a backyard shed into a global provider of blasting, coating and surface preparation solutions, with operations across North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

The company’s growth has been driven by a focus on customers, safer and more productive working practices, and a culture centred on humility, agility and practical problem-solving. As Global CEO, Worley will work with the BlastOne team to build on these foundations and support the company’s continued development and expansion.

Worley has also held industry leadership positions, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Compressed Gas Association from 2021 to 2025. He served as Board Chair from 2024 to 2025, with his work including efforts to advance industry safety standards and support the development of emerging professionals.

BlastOne has also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing leader Matthew Rowland, thanking him for his leadership and wishing him well in his next role.
