CNOOC-Fujian Ningde Industry Park Broke Ground

December 21, 2009 [TradingMarkets] - An integrated industry park jointly founded by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian lately broke ground on the Sanduao Xinan Peninsula, Ningde City, west bank of Taiwan Strait.

Covering a designed area of about 228 kilometers, the industry park is mainly composed of a 10-million-ton crude oil storage, a 2.6-million-ton LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving station and network, a LNG cold energy utilization engineering, with a total investment of CNY 23 billion.
Apart from the projects above, the builder will accelerate the infrastructure construction like highway, railway, terminal, as well as water and electricity supply. In addition, the preliminary preparations for the local petrochemical, equipment manufacturing, storage and logistics, export processing, and container port projects will be made soon.
Upon the cooperation agreement Fujian and CNOOC, China’s biggest offshore oil and gas producer, signed in June 2009, the whole construction will be divided into three phases. Ultimately, it is expected to be a top-rank international coastal industry park.
