September 10, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- Enbridge has expanded its presence in the US Rocky Mountains with the acquisition of a portfolio of assets from Tallgrass Energy.
The company, which owns and operates North America’s longest and most complex crude oil pipeline transportation network, has historically served major production activity in the Permian, Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB), Bakken and Eagle Ford regions.
With the acquisition, Enbridge is adding the US Rocky Mountains to that portfolio in a significant way. The company announced that it is acquiring Tallgrass Energy’s crude oil transportation, gathering, storage and terminaling assets for US$2.55 billion.
The deal will strengthen Enbridge’s connections with producers across the Rockies, particularly those operating in the Powder River Basin (PRB) and Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basins. Together, these regions extend from southern Montana through Wyoming and into Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.
