Mora Energy Completes Two Permian Basin Acquisitions and Enhances Capitalisation

August 13, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- Mora Energy has completed two acquisitions in the Midland Basin while significantly expanding its available capital through increased equity commitments from its financial sponsor and the closing of a new revolving credit facility.

Acquisitions

Mora recently completed the acquisition of Tejon Treating and Carbon Solutions LLC from funds managed by Bayswater Exploration & Production, LLC. Tejon operates a natural gas gathering, compression and sour gas treating business in the northeast Midland Basin.

The company also completed the acquisition of West Texas Midstream Gas Services, LLC, commonly known as the “Quail” system, from Williams Companies, Inc. Quail comprises natural gas gathering and compression infrastructure in the northwest Midland Basin.

The two acquisitions establish a significant operating footprint for Mora in the Midland Basin. The combined assets include approximately 200 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines, four compressor stations, an amine treating facility and an acid gas injection well.

Mora’s operations now extend across Andrews, Martin, Howard, Borden, Scurry and Mitchell counties in Texas. The company plans to use the acquired infrastructure as a platform for continued organic growth and additional acquisitions.

Enhanced capitalisation

In connection with the acquisitions, funds managed by NGP Energy Capital Management, LLC (“NGP”) have significantly increased their equity commitments to Mora, providing additional capital to support the company’s expansion strategy.

Mora has also closed a new credit facility led by BOK Financial and Huntington Bank. Combined with the increased equity commitments, the facility provides the company with substantial liquidity to pursue further organic and acquisition-driven growth opportunities.

Management perspective

Mora CEO Elliot Gerson said the acquisitions mark an important milestone for the company and its return to owning and operating midstream infrastructure in the Permian Basin.

Gerson said Mora intends to move quickly to pursue both organic development and acquisition opportunities, adding that increased support from NGP and the new credit facility provide the company with the financial flexibility to expand its footprint.

Mora President Drew Bredthauer said the company’s management team has spent much of its careers building midstream businesses in the Permian Basin. He noted that the new platform combines high-quality infrastructure with relationships with several premier oil and gas operators, positioning Mora to develop a large-scale midstream business in the region.

Moelis & Company LLC served as financial advisor to Mora on the Quail transaction, while Kirkland & Ellis LLP provided legal counsel.
