More Petroleum Storage Facilities to Be Built in Sri Lanka

November 19, 2012 [Colombo Page] - Sri Lanka Ministry of Petroleum Industry has handed over a project proposal to the National Planning Department to build a system of petroleum storage tanks.


The new tanks are to be constructed in Ceylon Kolonnawa and Ceylon Muthurajawela facilities. Seven tanks are to be built in Kolonnawa while three will be constructed in Muthurajawela.

The Ministry has estimated a cost of Rs. five billion for the project. The construction of the tanks is to be completed in 2015.

Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited manages the Kolonnawa and Muthirajawela petroleum storage facilities.
