August 11, 2026 [Storage Terminals Magazine]- VTTI Croatia has commissioned an upgraded operational technology (OT) network at its terminal, increasing network capacity tenfold and strengthening the digital infrastructure supporting day-to-day operations.

The upgrade is designed to improve network stability, resilience and scalability while providing additional capacity for the terminal’s future digital requirements. Although much of the OT infrastructure operates behind the scenes, it plays a critical role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of terminal facilities.

The increased network capacity is expected to provide VTTI Croatia with a stronger foundation for the introduction of additional digital capabilities as the terminal’s operational requirements evolve.

VTTI said the project is part of its continued focus on maintaining reliable terminal infrastructure and supporting safe operations. A robust OT network is increasingly important for terminals as operational systems become more connected and facilities adopt greater levels of automation and digitalisation.

The company credited the VTTI Croatia team, its Operational Technology colleagues and other project participants for their work in planning, delivering and validating the network upgrade.

The investment also supports VTTI’s wider emphasis on operational safety, with the company identifying the safe and healthy return of employees as a central priority.

The upgraded infrastructure is expected to provide greater scalability as VTTI Croatia continues to develop its digital capabilities, while strengthening the underlying technology infrastructure required for reliable terminal operations.
